White Ceylon pepper – the hot version of its “black brother”, similarly versatile, mild taste, very spicy.
White pepper is a "processed natural product." The fully ripe peppercorns are first stored in water. This dissolves the skin, allowing the white kernel to be isolated.
Our white pepper comes directly from Sri Lanka and tastes fruity and spicy, quite different from the many stored products sold in European supermarkets.
Our recommendation: White peppercorns are suitable as whole berries for pickling sour vegetables or for game goulash.
Chef's tip: If possible, grind or crush white pepper as fresh as possible. Ground white pepper loses its flavor with extended storage.
